Halo

As I lay
As I lay curled in your place
Where I thought
Where I though I made sense
I dreamt of you

Here I lie
Here I lie back in my bed
With bleak walls around me
What is it that’s so ugly

Was it my words, my face, my warmth
My breast, my love, my legs
The halo around my knees

Now I talk
Not I talk to thin air
Air so thin it’s choking me
So thin my body cannot breath enough of you to stay bright
Hold tight
Another part of an old book full of stories just alike to yours

Was it my words, my face, my warmth
My breast, my love, my legs
The halo around my knees

Fear walks in
Lamplight dims
Eyes close tight
Again, again

Was it my words, my face, my warmth
My breast, my love, my legs
The halo around my knees.
